Rusty water on a rainy day

A midweek getaway to Phillip Island saw us battling rain and flooded roads.¬†One of the rays of sunshine between the storm clouds was a visit to the Rusty Water Brewery Restaurant and Bar. Neil Gillin and the crew put on a fine spread of perfectly cooked beer battered Blue Grenadier with fries and a home made tartare. The beer batter and the fish were so delicious that we hardly had need of the tartare (though I’ll admit to dipping my chips a few times)

Four beers ranging from the Pure Pilsner (with a great bitter kick) to the most amazing Dark Malt Burnt Toffee Ale, each of the 200mL samples showed that these guys know how to make a good beer. Rounding out the four was their Amber and the award winning Koala Pale Ale which has a slight citrus note to it if you stop long enough to enjoy it.

They’ve just launched a great new website that lists all the great live music they feature on the weekends¬†and you can find them on Facebook and on Urban Spoon.
